86th Eye Check-up & Spectacle Distribution Camp

Road Safety Line (RSL), in association with the Road Safety Cell, Office of the Transport Commissioner, Rajasthan, successfully organised its 86th Eye Check-Up & Free Spectacles Distribution Camp on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Chandwaji (Delhi Road), Jaipur. The camp was conducted to promote road safety and safe driving practices by ensuring good eyesight among heavy vehicle drivers. This camp was organised in the loving memory of the late. Shri. Dhiralal Damodar Thakrar.

Digital Transformation Milestone

The 86th camp marks an important technological milestone for Road Safety Line. For the first time in 2026, refraction power data was entered digitally through a Web App and stored directly in a centralised Google Sheets Driver Database.

From this camp onwards:
✔ Manual refraction registers have been discontinued
✔ Paper refraction slips have been discontinued
✔ Data accuracy and transparency have improved
✔ Reports are generated automatically

Auto-Generated Reports

Three operational reports were generated automatically from the digital database:

1. Spectacles Order Sheet for Secretary: This report replaces the earlier manual register used for maintaining spectacle distribution records.

2. Spectacles Order Sheet for Optometrist: This report replaces the manual refraction power sheets used by optometrists during camps. This is sorted on the column SPECTS.

3. Spectacles Order Sheet for Spectacle Fitter: This report replaces handwritten slips previously issued to spectacle fitters.

From the 86th camp onwards, except for the driver’s prescription white slip, no paper is used for driver data entry. Data captured digitally includes Driver Name, City, Age, License or Aadhaar Number, Vision Status, Mobile Number and Power Reading.

* The statistics shared in the press release and the figures above may differ slightly (Drivers tested: 115 vs 110; Spectacles distributed: 75 vs 73). This is because the press release is sent slightly before the end of the camp, keeping a buffer of 2–3 additional tests and expected spectacle distributions.
