Under the joint initiative of Road Safety Line and the Road Safety Cell functioning under the Transport Commissioner, Rajasthan, the 83rd Free Eye Check-up and Spectacle Distribution Camp was successfully organised at Rajesh Motors, Chandwaji, on 18-Nov-2025.
In view of the recent increase in serious road accidents around Jaipur, the administration has intensified preventive measures. As part of this effort, the Flying Squad of the Regional Transport Office–II stopped truck drivers on the state highway and directed them to the camp for eye examination.
The technical team conducted computerised eye testing for 180 drivers. Drivers diagnosed with weak eyesight were immediately provided with 110 free spectacles, and free eye medicines were also distributed on the spot.
Shri Pratap Bhatia, Secretary, Road Safety Line, informed that such eye check-up camps have been continuously organised for over 20 years, and more than 8,600 free spectacles have been distributed so far. The objective of this unique initiative is to reduce road accidents by ensuring better vision for commercial drivers.
